The basics

What is NERD?

NERD (Nigeria Education Repository and Databank) is a national database for all Nigerian graduates. The government uses it to verify your academic records and make sure your certificate is legit.

Starting from 2026, every graduate needs a NERD clearance slip before NYSC will let you into orientation camp. No clearance, no camp. No camp, no service year.
